Housing Authority of Champaign County offers three types of Non-MTW Vouchers; Veteran Affairs Supportive Housing, Moderate Rehabilitation Program, and Tenant-Protection Vouchers. The Veteran Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH) program combines Housing Choice Voucher rental assistance for homeless Veterans with case management and clinical services provided by the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA). The moderate rehabilitation (Mod Rehab) program provides project-based rental assistance for low income families. Eligible families are placed on a Mod Rehab waiting list; which the owner manages. When vacancies occur in Mod Rehab projects, the owner then select families for occupancy of a particular unit after screening each family. Tenant-Protection Vouchers (TPVs) are meant to ensure there is no displacement of low-income residents as a result of various action resulting in a loss of subsidy assistance. TPVs also provide stability to the property. HACC currently administers TPVs in Charleston, IL.
