Agenda Background

1. Resolution 2024-01 Small Area Fair Market Rent
   
   At the board meeting held today, the resolution regarding the adoption of Small Area Fair Market Rents (SAFMRs) was put forth for consideration. Acknowledging the Housing Authority of Champaign County's prior execution of a Moving to Work (MTW) Agreement with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the subsequent analysis conducted in line with the Community Choice Initiative Implementation Plan, the Board recognized the necessity of implementing SAFMRs at 150% in Champaign County. The Board concurred that this adjustment aligns with the objective of facilitating access to and sustainability of high-opportunity areas for participants in the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program. Consequently, the Board of Commissioners of the Housing Authority of Champaign County unanimously resolved to approve the attached Small Area Market Rents by Bedroom Size schedule, slated for implementation effective March 2024.
   
   
2. Resolution 2024-2 Lease Agreement with the Urbana Neighborhood
   
   The resolution before the board today seeks approval for the Housing Authority of Champaign County (HACC) to enter into a Lease Agreement with the Urbana Neighborhood Connections Center. Recognizing the integral role of the Center in providing vital support services and programs for youth development, the resolution underscores HACC's commitment to fostering the potential of young members within the community. Through this proposed Lease Agreement extending to 2025, the Board acknowledges the importance of formalizing this partnership, affirming HACC's dedication to supporting initiatives that contribute to the well-being and positive growth of the community's youth.
