Housing Authority of Champaign County Appoints Interim Executive Director

Champaign, IL. January 29, 2021. The Housing Authority of Champaign County has appointed Lily L. Walton as Interim Executive Director. Following a unanimous vote by the board of commissioners on Thursday, January 28, 2021, Chairman Dr. Grant G. Henry announced that Ms. Walton would take on the role of managing the daily operations of the authority during this time of transition for the agency beginning on February 1, 2021.

Ms. Walton has been with the Authority for three years, filling various roles such as the Interim Deputy Director of Enrichment Operations and the Director of YouthBuild.  During her time with the agency, Lily has led several strategic initiatives aimed at cultivating equity and self-sufficiency in housing. She has also been responsible for operational and administrative oversight of the Move to Work (MTW) Demonstration Program, Family Self-Sufficiency Program, Policy Development & Planning, YouthBuild Program, Client Services Division, and government relations.

About the Housing Authority of Champaign County: The Housing Authority of Champaign County (HACC) is a municipal corporation organized according to the Illinois Housing Authority Act. The jurisdiction of HACC includes all incorporated and unincorporated areas of the county of Champaign, Illinois.
